Episode Two - A Goblin Conspiracy

At Glendower, they discovered that there was a 5 SP bounty on goblin heads, and a 100 GP reward for the Goblin Bandit leader! The area had experienced several raids, burning the farmsteads and taking prisoners near the edge of the woodlands north of the city.

Glendower

Farthingdale is willing to delay his return to Blackmoor, giving the party a chance to deal with the goblin depredations!

The party questioned a city guardsman, and made their way to one of the farmsteads that had suffered attack. After a few false starts, they found their way into the forest just north of Glendower, where Trista discovered a false tree stump with an illusion concealing the ladder into the goblin lair.

Descending the ladder, the party found themselves in a tunnel that led 40' to a door, but they discovered a secret door on the east wall. They went through the secret door and down the stairs, where they came upon a guard room, with four goblin guards playing dice. Trista used her Mage Hand to help the keep the dice game interesting, and then the party struck by surprise, rendering them unable to sound the alarm horn.

The party then found the room guarded by Snarl, the panther pet of the chieftain of the goblin raiders. Snarl died and the party swiftly passed into the sleeping quarters of Korreg, the bugbear leader of the raiders. They killed him and took his head, discovering that his nose-ring was the magical gold with inset pearl Ring of Fand, which allows the wearer to cast an Identify spell once a day, without a material component. They also looted the vault of the raider cash reserves.

Herald the Goblin
The party then found their way to the main hall of the goblin raiders, where they destroyed more raiders and the goblin shaman Ganag, a devotee of Maglubiyet, the Red Lord of Battle. One of the goblins surrendered; his name was Herald, and aided the party in killing the three hobgoblin guards defending the seven captured citizens of Glendower. The party retreated to Glendower, having been told that there were more gobins out on a raid and likely to return any minute. Herald informed the party that the raiders were bankrolled by the Temple of the Frog, and that their captives were held for pickup,

In Glendower, the party was celebrated by the half-Elven paladin Baron Glade, who paid the party the reward and bounty.  Herald took service with the party, grateful for a chance to earn a mitigation of the death sentence which would otherwise have been his fate.

Episode One - Freedom!

It was just after mid-morning when the naval vessel docked in Blackmoor, disgorging the slaves that they had rescued from slavers of the Temple of the Frog. The freed slaves were taken to a table at the docks where they were greeted by an arcanist named Gaaron the Damned, whose eyes seemed to be pits of hellfire coals. Each of the former slaves were given a 30-day Visa, allowing them freedom of movement within the Ducal lands, a small velvet pouch containing 5 GP, and a voucher for a week of food and lodging at the Laughing Ogre Inn. A group of the freed slaves headed to the Laughing Ogre Inn, where they were greeted by the innkeeper, a former adventurer named William DuSane, his ward the half-ogre Thrud the Philosopher, and Shonda the Tiefling bard.  As a Wood Elf, Xaran was escorted to the Sheriff's office, where he was questioned closely; when they were convinced he was not a spy or saboteur, he was released and joined the others. The ex-slaves ate a meal of goat stew and ...

Background - Pantera de la Vega

(OOC information.  Pantera has one non-expiring Inspiration point!) Pantera de la Vega Orphaned as a kitten, I was adopted by a band of pirates looking for a good luck charm. As I grew up, my skills also grew as I learned thievery, swordplay and acrobatics while serving under the captain. Soon, I became not a mascot, but a valued member of the crew. I also learned that there can be honor among thieves. While we suffered no guilt at relieving bloated merchants and royalty of their riches, I also watched my captain distribute food and clothing to the local street urchins at each port of call. It was ingrained in me that those that can protect themselves must strive to provide aid to those unable to do so. Unfortunately, good things tend to come to an end. One soon to be fateful dawn, we left dock and sailed into cold and foggy weather. The crows nest called out the sighting of a trading ship riding low in the water. But as we turned to bring our guns to bear, two escorting corv...

Episode 4 - The Road to the Duchy of Ten

Having traveled the swamp and fought a bullywug  slaving raid, the party finds itself in the lawless freehold of Lake Gloomy. They spend a few days training, shopping, and suffering the bad food available in the local inn. Farthingdale the Cheese merchant pays for their in room during their stay. The bard at the inn, Ecthelion the Bard, is... horrible. His tips amount to barely enough copper to afford a day's food and beer. The party meet and dismiss the local bookie, a human with a pair of half-ogre bruiser bodyguards. They head out on the road to the Duchy of Ten when seven humans appear on the road. They ask for sanctuary from the LizardFolk raiders they claim assaulted them and stole their foodstuff-filled cart. Sure enough, a score of LizardFolk appear, pursuing them. Trista called to the LizardFolk in Draconic, and established a parlay. The LizardFolk wanted the seven humans for extradition; they were "ver-mish!" (slurred "vermin"). The humans transformed ...
